Kegel cones

Hi. I am 49 years old and I am having a problem with stress incontinence.  I started to do Kegel exercises and I am also considering trying the Kegel cones. I was wondering if anyone has tried them and if yes where did you purchase them.  Has anyone have success with Kegel exercises?  Thanks.  Val

    Val,

As a gynecologist who sees many women with stress urinary incontinence, I recommend a couple of things.  1 is to consider pelvic floor PT, this can be very beneficial.  Before that I do recommend pelvic floor exercise tools.  There are a few ‘tools’ out there on the market.  I have a website for women’s sexual health, MiddlesexMD.com, and we offer a selection of tools.  Here is a link to the page on the site that discusses options, http://middlesexmd.com/action/do-kegel-exercises-perhaps-with-exercise-tool?element=68.  Having an objective weight to properly engage the pelvic floor does improve the outcome for women.  Good luck!
