I don’t know if tattoo parlors do permanent makeup. But one of my sisters has her eye brows done. She also has to have them redone almost every 2-3 years. I don’t like them myself, they look fake and too dark for her light complexion. I think hers are done by someone that has a ‘booth’ in a beauty salon but I can’t be sure since I don’t live near her. I guess it is all a matter of preference. She has told me that at some point they won’t redo them anymore because the inks will start running together ‘like old tattoos do’. My hubby has a tattoo on his upper arm that you can’t tell what it is because all the ink has run together. Not sure I would want a tattooed uni-brow at 65.

i had my eyebrows done about 5 years back and they need redoing, but even if i do not, it is easy to fix just do with an eyebrow pencil. My problem is that my eyesight is getting worse by the day and doing my make up daily is a pain. My nail artist did hers in Vietname and it looks great.

I’ve never been in a tatoo parlor so can’t say for sure! But I belive that beauty salons & spas do this type of service. I’d love to have my eyeliner put on so I would never have to do again but I have super sensitive skin. I’m so afraid I would have a reaction to the dye and never be able to open my eyes again!

My opinion – don’t do it! Your skin becomes paler as you age and the tattoo can look very harsh. If you need help try the eye glasses which have flip up lens in them. Then you can see one eye at a time.

I’d ask at the local beauty salons. They will know who does the work. I thought about doing it because I hate doing my makeup now and like another VN lady said, it’s hard to see what you’re doing because our eyes need glasses and you can’t put on eye makeup with glasses on (lol) So I talked to the aesthetician and looked at pictures. I didn’t like the way any of them looked. But that’s me.

I’d check salons too, especially in Miami. Where I live is not big city and the place where I get my nails done does the permanent makeup. They’re basically a mani/pedi/waxing place.

I am 63, and had my eye liner and my lips done. I LOVE, LOVE, Love it. Of course, the person you have do it needs to know what they are doing. My main reason for the lip do, was that I couldn’t tell where my lips started and ended. I have never been a “put on makeup before I leave the house” type of person. But I believe this is one of the best things I have done.

did it hurt? I cannot stand pain.

Yes it did. The eyes not too bad, but the lips…… However, it was worth it for me. I had it done the first time on the 5th of December. My eyes did fine, but my lips ended up with cold sores. The color didn’t really take that well on the lips. A “touch-up” was included in the price of the tatoo. So, I went in again two weeks ago and had both the lips and eyes redone. Hint: if you decide to have your lips done, talk to your Dr about getting some medication for cold sores before you do it. Use the meds the day before, the day, and the day after. Just my experience…

no, i am not interested on the lips and after your episode, even less. My eyes and eyebrows need retouching. That is weird i thought the eyes would hurt more than the lips. Do they numb you?

My gal used a numbing cream, but it really doesn’t do that much. I think the reason the lips hurt more is because there is more area to cover. The eyes do hurt, just not as much. I had her do a very thin line on my upper and lower lash line.

I got my eyes permanently tatooed by specialist for my 50th — eyeliner only last two years.

YES THEY DO HERE IN NYC BUT I WOULD THINK TWICE ABOUT IT IF I WERE YOU…
MY GRANDMOTHERS BEST FRIEND DID HER BROWS, EYE LINER AND LIPS ABOUT 30 YEARS AGO WHEN SHE WAS IN HER EARLY 50’S AND NOW AS SHE HAS AGED, SO HAS THE TATTOO’S..
WHEN SHE FIRST GOT THEM THEY LOOKED GREAT SO UNLESS YOU NEVER AGE, SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT BE FOR YOU DO IT..
