chemical peel vs dermabrasion (Part 2)

If you ladies remember, a while back I was considering which procedure to have to remove age spots. Well, after research and deliberation, I decided to have a chemical peel process where you get one peel every month for six months. Cost: $750 (or $625 if paid in total up front. There will also be some after treatment creams to buy along the way–approx $25 after ea treatment).

Yesterday was my first one. I’ll have to say that the experience was pleasant enough. The aesthetician cleaned my skin, applied a toner, and then a layer of the peel chemical. She asked my comfort level re pain from 1-10. I’ll have to say that the worst it ever got was about a 5, and it was more like a severe itch than anything else. She fanned my face–which helped. (I told her she would probably get more business if she had a hunky guy with a large feather fan do this step — but I digress). She proceeded to do the same layering process three more times, as my skin was not reacting negatively. She told me to leave the stuff on until the evening of the following day.

The morning after: I got up a while ago and my face looks like I have a medium tan and feels ok. The aesthetician had told me that I would probably get very red, but it doesn’t look like that will happen.

I’ll keep you all posted. Please feel free to ask any questions.
