Where can I find “wrinkle free” business attire? Hot Conversation

I travel for work and spend 3-4 nights a week in hotels. Which clothing line is better at “wrinkle free” yet is business attire? Also any other travel tips for packing etc is appreciated. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Check the Travelsmith catalog!! They offer an entire catalog full of “travel-friendly” clothing; many of which do not wrinkle. I often buy their clothing for everyday use, to keep looking wrinkle free. They even keep their prices within the realm of reason..Good luck!

I love LL Bean’s wrinkle free shirts. They fit great and are truely wrinkle free, looking freshly iron right out of the dryer. I was on a shuttle bus from the airport on a hot, humid day and a lady said to me “that must be a magic blouse you are wearing because you just traveled all day and you look so crisp”.

I’m a big fan of the Chico’s travelers line (www.chicos.com). I can travel for an entire week in a small duffel bag or carry-on. The pieces never wrinkle and always look sharp.

travel and do tandem biking so, clothes need to be wrinkle-free! Carol Anderson by Design-Doty is my consultant 610-247-5890 like Chicos but more curvier. Chicos Travelers collection are great, too. I tell all my clients that travel for job-try bubble shirts-they are one size fits all & start out looking like doll clothes-fine under a suit or jacket! I also roll clothes & put tissue or plastic drycleaner’s bag between…Marcia-AKA The Transition Chick! http://www.eCareerCorner.com

Chico’s is great for this – it’s not my favorite, fashion-wise, but you can wear it for a week on the road and no one can tell. Same for Coldwater Creek – even if you don’t want to wear their stuff to work if you’re not traveling, they have a line of travel knits that really works on the road.

For travel that doesn’t involve too much work, don’t forget about Territoryahead.com and Isabellabird.com, which I think are owned by the same company. Both have travel lines that don’t wrinkle AND don’t make me feel like I haven’t earned as many frequent flyer miles as I have! Also, Orvis is very good for travel clothing basics that you won’t regret.

I would need to know where you usually shop, your budget, your measurements and your vocation to advise you on a line of clothing that would look well on you and also not serve to unnecessarily age you.

“Wrinkle free”is often the highlight of too many matronly lines of boomer (and older) women’s clothes. You can see an example of how a “wrinkle-free” knit suit effect (from a very well known designer line based on knitwear) in my book Forever Cool. It is billed as a “never cool.”

For travel tips, I would advise a limited mix and match neutral color palette (black, brown, beige, tan, cream, white and even khaki and olive). Include accessories that flatten out easily , such as a nylon or leather bag. Include punch color in accessories such as a necklace, or single items like blouses or sweaters (ie. a citric green turtleneck) combos.

Travelsmith is my answer for wrinkle free traveling. Their fashions are easy to wear and shake out wrinkles easily. I’ve worn them for years and give their items as gifts to all my fellow travelers.

You can also check out Weekenders. They are knits that are sold through dealers not in stores. They have some lovely pieces and are really wrinkle free.

I just checked on line and they are closed.  There is a business that has the mens casual line (Captains Landing).  I will keep looking.  Thanks for the information.

I ordered one and you are right, try it on.  They were super about returning for another size though.  I got one in white and it always travels with me.  It is my “extra” will work with differnt styles.  A bit pricey but the quality is excellent and I have already started putting a lot of mile on it:)

I also love Chicos and Coldwater Creek has a great wrinkle free blouse that goes everywhere, For sleepwear I Love Goodnighties.com for the best most comfortable travel sleepwear, dries quickly, wrinkle free, washes anywhere and looks great on.  It also helps to roll items for day wear in tissue paper or the drycleaning bag.
