The wonderful thing about fashion is that it’s a fun way to express yourself!
I tend to stay with what looks good to me in my own head, forgetting that I have a fifty-something brain that when left to its own sense of comfort, can put together some very frumpy and ill-fitting outfits!
I must always return to what I want my fashion statement to be: classic, sexy, sophisticated, somewhat trendy, well made, with a flattering fit.
As we approach sixty, many women feel “why bother”,”comfort us the most important thing”. I say resist that instinct with all your might! Falling into the “tent” dress and elastic waistband pit is something you may never recover from! (Don’t even get me started about the glasses on the chain!).
Seek out younger women and stylish older women to go shopping with. If they aren’t readily available there are a few fashion magazines for every day looks and latest trends.
As the years go by I strive to improve my figure and my look. One of these days I may loose the energy to fight against the tide of fashion nightmares like: saggy ill-fitting bras, mom jeans, high water pants that some actually think are capris, and wearing “sensible” sneekers with everything! Haha. But if I trade in my Victoria’s secret thongs for white cotton Granny-panties, please just make me drink the cool-aid!
