non surgical skin tightening Hot Conversation

Has anyone used the Elos system of skin tightening. I have looked into it and it appears like a wonderful alternative to surgery, but I would like to hear from anyone who has actually tried it. Thanks gals!

I work in surgery with plastic surgeons. I can’t afford any procedure. I was talking with one Dr. yesterday about the Hydroxy that is on the radio..alot. He told me that products work their way around. He said that it couldn’t work as well as a peel from the office, because it can’t be strong enough. He suggested to me to use the Olbagi skin line. Cost wise it’s affordable for the results. I’m going to check it out!

This way, you will save time responding to each and every inquiry you get, and vice versa.

Obagi is great. I have used it for almost a year and my skin looks better than it did if I do say so myslef. Well others have said so too. There are many different steps to it and you just need to find an office and go! They ask you a lot of questions, look at your skin and prescribe a regimen to follow. Once those products are gone you return and go for the next step. i am not a person that likes to take lots of time getting ready for the day or for the night but it seems to go quicker and smoother as you continue to use the products. You can start out with a few procducts and add as you like. Good luck.

What exactly is Obagi? Where do you go to find it? Is it non-surgical? Do you have to go to a plastic surgeon to find it, get started with it, and continue with it? This is all so new to me that I’m starting to feel overwhelmed, but hopeful at the same time :)

I too had a thermage treatment on my face and neck 5 weeks ago. It was painful which I expected, so much so that they gave me 2 Vicoden before the treatment. It cost $1500.00 with no results guaranteed. It is supposed to stimulate the collagen and elastin under your skin so the skin tightens up a bit making the wrinkles and sagging improve. I am 58, I was looking for a tightening of the jowel line and neck and got no results whatsoever. Granted my skin is in very good condition and I have few wrinkles due to always taking good care and always wearing sunscreen. But what I was looking for, reversing the affects of gravity did not happen. Granted everyone is different and it might have worked better if I were younger perhaps but personally now I think cutting is the only way to get the lift you need at my age. I did know the stats going in but decided to try it anyway. Just be informed of what you are getting into.

That is too bad that you got no results for what seems like a lot of money.  I have information on a system that is 100% guaranteed to work or you can get your money back.  Non invasive, no pain and the results I have on my 56 year old skin is remarkable.  Need an email address to send the information.

Holly, It was $1500 and I am thrilled with the results. It took 4 months before I could see a difference. 3 years later, my skin still if firm; no jowls, no pooch and people are surprised that I am 50. Most people peg me for early 40′s.

My wrinkles came 5-7 years after menopause @56-58, that seems to be when many women loose collagen. Noticing the jowls and throat just this year, I’ll be 59. At 50 I was just starting menopause. Stress seems to show more on my face just this last year, my skin is recently both thinner & drier. I would try Thermage before the knife so thanks for the info on it. I don’t notice much benefit from all the creams and potions I’ve tried over the years.

Sorry about the delay in response. I was in Haiti as part of a medical relief tea. I thought that the Thermage was painful, but supposedly the new machines are not painful, so you have to ask if it is the Cool Wave machine. It only took one treatment, but I didn’t see results until 4 months later. The collagen takes time to reform. Because I had the old machine, I had to take Percocet and Valium before the treatment.

I use the white of the egg for tightning my skin. Leave it on for 15 mins and wash off with cold tap water. Works wonders! Not only tightens your skin but also nourishes and moisturises it leaving your skin smooth and soft.

I have used the egg whites too. Great old trick. Another one is to use cold teabags on your eyes to get rid of the puffiness. Keep some in the fridge and put them on each eye and lie down for about 10 minutes and I guarantee you that your eyes will look brighter and more awake!

Well not as I had hoped,  clinic person said he would probably do lipo and titan, but when the DR himself visited with me, he did not want to do the lipo part because I am diabetic.  I was disappointed to say the least.  I will, however go back on Saturday to try the Titan on my neck and lower face to see. He said 3 to 5 treatments but if nothing after 3 we will stop.  I will keep everyone updated as I go.  I will take before and after shots to post if things improve.  My mom had the excess skin and jowls and I am trying to convince myself tha there are worse things than looking like my mom!

ok time for an update, I did go for the treatments 3 times and now 2 months past the third treatment I see stunning differences in places and modest inprovement in others,  Due to my being overweight I did not find the majic bullet to elliminate the turkey neck, and that was not a surprise after my initial Dr consult. however it is not crepey or multitexturedand smoths nicely with cosmetics for the day.  But my cheeks crows feet and nose lines as none existant now, and overall my face is firm and much improved. I will go back and would recommend to anyone to try three sessions to see what you get.  overall I am quite satisfied.

Hi Holly. Non existant lines on your face??? Did you take the before and after photos?

        Congratulations!

Was there a reason why the Titan procedure was used, vs. some other laser treatment?

        Thanks for updating.

    Hi Barbara,
Non-surgical face-lifts can definitely take 10 years off your appearance.  A physician specializing in aesthetic medicine can prescribe and administer various modalities, depending on your needs.  These include:

    • Fractional Laser Skin Rejuvenation to tighten skin, stimulate collagen, improve texture, eliminate scars (such as acne), and even out skin tones.
    • Botox to erase frown lines on your forehead and crow’s feet around your eyes.
    • Fillers to diminish deep folds (parentheses or laugh linesa) around your mouth.
    • Professional chemical peels to exfoliate dead skin cells so your new, younger skin cells can shine and make your skin radiant.

You should also follow a skin care regimen to maintain these results and prevent further damage.  This MUST include Vitamin A, an antioxidant and, of course, sunblock.

I have a question. You mention getting monthly treatments, and then you list several things. Could you clarify what your thinking is? Is the monthly treatment all of these? One at a time? Sequential? etc.

        Thanks for participating.

Hello…I was concerned that my cheeks were starting to “sink” and my upper eye lids seemed a bit heavy.  Since my treatments I see a remarkable difference in my face being more full and my eyebrows have definitely lifted.  The cost is, depending on your location, could range from $125.00 to as much as $185.00 per session.  A package of 10 is most often around $1,000.00.  My experience is – I needed ten.  Long lasting – after your ten, suggested treatments, a maintenance plan of once every four to five weeks.  Like anything else, it needs to be maintained for optimum results.  I am 69 !
