Can I really blame my extra tire on menopause? And if so, once I make it through, will it go away??

I’m halfway between thinking it will go away and making my peace with it. I have a feeling vanity will tilt the scale toward getting rid of it, but it is sooooo hard to lose weight. I had no idea until I hit menopause how difficult this is. Have you noticed how many posts on VN are related to weight in one way or another? We’re pretty much all struggling with it, it seems.
I’m waiting for the invention of the MenoPill that will turn us all back into our svelte former selves.
Oh yes, a pill – that would be the best solution. I guess it does force the issue of “accepting oneself as is”, doesn’t it? Quite a challenge after so many years of trying to stay a certain size! Looks like I’m in good company. Thanks.
I don’t think it is going to go away easily. I hate it. And it is soooo hard to lose even a lb anymore. I want my waist back!!!!!
I hate it too. I vow not to buy new clothes to accommodate this new addition!

Hey gals,
I’m proof that it’s possible to tame the muffin top–dare I say banish it? I just couldn’t handle the spare tire thing when I put on my fave clothes. And a few pounds seem to want to hold on tighter than ever and invite friends around the holidays. I took to the books, supplements, theories, exercise routines–this is what I do for a living–and came up with what works. I’m not selling anything, if you’d like the information just head over to http://easymidlifeweightloss.com and you’ can have 7 days of science based info that I’ve proven–the long and hard way, let me save you the same fate–to work.
