Mascara

One eye has chemo-induced “mucosal” damage and usually runs, tear duct structure not there.  Despite numerous mascara purchases — none work.  Current purchase is Rimmel voluminous lash something and I use the hair dryer to dry it, otherwise wet lumps on face and eye socket.  Suggestions on what works appreciated.

I love DHC Cosmetics Mascara Perfect Pro Double Protection. It’s a more affordable version of that Blinc Mascara that everyone is talking about. It’s not real cheap, but it’s not expensive either. It freaked me out the first time I took it off because it looks like little crumbles…but I’ll tell you that it really stays on good. I wash mine off with just soap and water. Eye makeup remover doesn’t really work that great with it.

Let me know if you like it!

I like DHC products, but haven’t had luck with their mascara.  Maybe I got a bad one, but it flakes after about 6 hours.  Drove me nuts so I tossed it.  The clerk at CVS suggested Cover Girl Great Lash & that seems to be good.

After trying all sorts of different mascaras (I’m 64, so I’ve had a lot of experience) I have settled on Neutrogena Healthy Volume.  It’s only 8 dollars and I like it so much better than even the very expensive Chanel, which for all it’s hype, flaked all over my cheeks.  The Neutrogena stays put no matter what I do.  Mind, I don’t swim so I don’t know what it does when you get wet, but for daily use, that’s my go-to stuff.

Janet Lamar Skincare Lash Luxe: Mousse-like mascara with no fibers that builds like crazy but also looks good with a single coat. Use by lots and lots of women who have problems with mascaras. And only $11!

I use Double Extend Lash Fortifier & Extender Mascara by L’Oreal Paris. I can often get it for under $10 at Target and elsewhere.  It’s one of those mascara that forms tubes around your lashes.  It absolutely doesn’t run until you wash it off!
