From what I’ve seen on those makeover shows, the most dramatic thing you can do to make your face look younger – the right hairstyle!!!!!

A little change in the lines of your hair around your face, and/or the color of your hair, can change your entire look.  Add to that a decent makeup job (maybe get a facial the week before, even), and you can take years off your face.

My advice – if you don’t have a fabulous hair person – well, my advice is, you should!!!!  Think of someone you know who has amazing hair – ask her who her stylist is.  Ask strangers if necessary.  I have had strangers ask me, which is one way I know mine’s a keeper!

With my hair a little lighter (subtle highlights), and the right bangs, my eyes look at least 10 years younger, my face seems to almost be defying gravity, compared to when my old heavy style, and darker shade were dragging it down.

I agree. I’ve tried to stay urgent with my hair without being too over the top, like purple hair, etc. I get lots of compliment on my hair. I finally quit trying to get it to do what I wanted and have gone with the natural wave/curl. With all the products out now it’s the easiest and quickest style I’ve ever had. It’s shoulder length, thick, mousy blonde that I highlight. Layers. Long enough to put up in a clip when it’s hot or working out. Top is shorter layers that gives me height. I like it peicy looking which where the products come in.

Nothing dates a woman who is sporting that 80′s big hair. Finding what suits you personally is key. Not only what your hair does, but face shape. It’s only one part of the formula that makes us unique.

Hmm..I like to sport that 80′s big hair thing and it suits me completely. Can we call it 21st Century Great Volume Cut now?

I have thick, naturally curly hair down to my waist; I had it straightened AND low-lighted and I LOVE it; everyone else loves it too; makes me look 20 years younger; I will keep it that way.

I like this article! I’m still wearing mine below shoulder length with layers and highlights. I like the sexy feminine feeling of long hair. I think the freedom to look in the mirror and really like your style is the most important thing!

I agree with you about getting a good haircut, however I’ve had thin, straight, baby-fine hair all my life.  My hair sucks.  And, I have the best stylist in my city.  I’ve even gone so far as to wear a weave, which was great fun, but pulled my hair out over time. So, the best thing I have found is a hat.  Not a crappy hat, but a beautiful hat.  Not only does the right hat light up your face, it keeps you from getting wrinkles and it shades your face so that people don’t notice your wrinkles as much.  No, I don’t make or sell hats, but I know that many women will end up with thinner hair as they get older, so… for those of you who don’t have thick hair, I want to say two words: Louise Green.  (You will thank me later.)

I’ve gone from very long naturally very dark hair to a short blond bob. I made the transition in stages – first the length went, then gradually the colour was lightened. I had very little grey hair but the dark colour was beginning to make my complexion look washed out. I used to wear up styles which were a little harsh. The lighter colour and more modern styling has made me look much younger. People think I’m in my mid 40s but I’m 57. I feel great!
i used to like my long hair but changing my hair has been part of getting out of an old relationship and trying different things. New hair, new makeup, new clothes (needed as I lost weight as i became happier), new life with a new man, my soulmate.
Changing my hair gave me the opportunity to question old habits and beliefs. People literally saw me differently and I began making new choices about what I wanted to do and be.
