As a woman who’s been coloring her hair at home for the past 22 years, I’ve used various colors, shades, and brands, all without incident. Believing the hype about the Clairol haircolor that allegedly becomes a foam after you add the color to the developer, shake, and squeeze the bottle, is the WORST! It does NOT become a foam (although the directions were followed to the letter), it drips all over the place (I used a red shade and it was reminiscent of the shower scene from Psycho), and the smell is that of stale beer. Horrible product!

Ooops…I think the problem was “…after you add the color to the developer, shake, and squeeze the bottle,…” No shaking allowed; specifically says to gently tilt the bottle a couple times to mix and voila! Otherwise you will have a drippy solution. Do not even tip the bottle over, simply squeeze and foam! I absolutely loved it!
