I also only shower and wash my hair every other day now to keep my hair and skin from getting too dry. I take a sponge bath on the other nights just washing the necessary parts like the pits. The other stuff contained in "styling" products are part of what's drying out your hair in the first place. My hair looks and feels much better since I gave up on most "products" several months ago, and just started using natural oils morning and night and a bone comb, which eliminates the static generated by combs and brushes made of plastics.
