I am surprised there is controversy and I’m looking forward to hearing what people think about this. Personally, I load up on EF when I’m in NYC and bring it back to the UK, happily unaware that it’s a uniform. I don’t usually go for a total EF statement as I like to mix it up with something a little less flowy, but my only real complaint about EF is that the trousers are too short for us tall women and would love a tall size.
I refuse to pay $100 for a T-shirt, so I’ll abstain from voting.
If I understand you correctly, your reference is to the elastic-waisted I’m old now so whatever aspect of Eileen Fisher’s designs. My answer? yes and no.
I have many pieces from EF in my closet. They mix up well with each other and with other things, and travel beautifully. I admit I find those elastic-waist bands are a great alternative to a fear of being cut in half by bending over, but I don’t think anyone would accuse me of letting myself go. I certainly don’t tuck my button-down oxford cloth shirts in and set out for the day. Eileen Fisher clothing works for me!
