I use a lip stain now for the first time in my life. I am in my mid 50′s and wish I had discovered this marvel earlier!
It stays on even after eating and drinking – you will still have color to your lips.
Also, since you stay within the outline of your lips, the color is so natural and not obvious.
I have tried numerous lip stains and my favs so far are Revlon ColorStay Ultimate (inexpensive ) and YSL (expensive). I have to admit, the YSL is less drying.

hi michelle, you are right, he has too many hang ups for me. i called him my lover, because he is just that - a sexual partner. We are both seeking someone permanent and he wants someone younger. he points to zsa zsa who is now in bed, and who has 
I use Maybelline. Trick is to let it dry before you put the gloss top coat on. Been using it for years. And I hate that they recently changed the colors and the packaging!
In addition to “going out” colors, I have a neutral looking one that I use to make my lips look more uniform in color when I want to not look so made up.
That and their Great Lash mascara (pink bottle green top) are all I use in terms of makeup unless it is a truly special event.
