After trying all sorts of different mascaras (I’m 64, so I’ve had a lot of experience) I have settled on Neutrogena Healthy Volume.
It’s only 8 dollars and I like it so much better than even the very expensive Chanel, which for all it’s hype, flaked all over my cheeks.
The Neutrogena stays put no matter what I do. Mind, I don’t swim so I don’t know what it does when you get wet, but for daily use, that’s my go-to stuff.

What’s your go-to, everyday mascara?

No, no, NO!! This mascara, like most brands, is toxic. There are plenty of non-toxic brands available (although, depending on where you live, you may have to get them at Whole Paycheck Foods. Since mascara is the cosmetic I wear least often (special occasions and meetings only), I was concerned that since I only buy paraben-free and petrochemical free, my mascara probably needed to be thrown out, and of course, it’s more expensive than chemical-laden brands. I realized that what I really wanted was old-fashioned cake mascara, so it could dry out between uses. I found what I was looking for at Twink Beauty at Etsy. Their mascara, which comes in great shades like aubergine (eggplant) and bronze, as well as the all-important white undercoat, is perfection.
I tried the Neutrogena mascara based on this rave review. It flakes as bad as any I’ve tried and it smells like toxic waste. I’m heading to Etsy for something more natural. Thank you!!
