Support Your Bosom Buddies

Let’s face it—bras have always played a monumental role in our lives and that is not going to change—especially for the Boomers (damn that gravity).  From those first inverted bras that most of us, excluding Jean, who was almost born with breasts, had back in Jr. High (for me a little cotton, or toilet paper to fill out the ends went along way for my self esteem) to the cantilevered platform concept that many boomers employ today, bras matter.

Bras matter because breasts matter—they have been a national pastime for decades. As far back as the ‘50s, Howard Hughes was putting his engineering skills to use designing custom contraptions to keep Jane Russell’s chest aloft.

Although bra sales may have gone flat in the ‘60s, they bounced back in the ‘70s.  In the ‘90s, when Pamela Anderson sprouted mammaries that were unnaturally voluptuous for our species, the whole world noticed and commented.

Our cups runneth over… Jean says: “Large breasts, as many of you know, are both a blessing and a curse.  We both have unusually bountiful breasts, and therefore, we both have a lifetime of stories to share in which our breasts have played starring roles.”   We are sure that many of you do also?  We are dedicated to weighing the effects of age on our 50+ year old breasts, keeping them healthy and what we can do to add a little extra reinforcement to our  “support system”.

Our  theory is that your weight should be stated in two parts:  with and without breasts.  Many years ago Suzanne undertook the challenge of weighing her breasts and discovered that without mammaries, she weighed a svelte 112 pounds.  But with breasts, she ballooned to 122 pounds.  For several months (OK years) afterwards, when anyone discussed weight, she would ask: “With or without breasts?”

Invest in a bra fit for the job in front of you; even in a sagging economy you deserve a healthy lift.
