Melasma

I am 61 and have Melasma…mostly on the right side of my face. It is very noticeable and I have tried so many different makeups and nothing really covers it. I am self conscious about what I look like and find myself apologising for how I look. I started seeing a dermatologist…for 5 months now I have used Esoterica and the Tretotin cream he prescribed. I see no change at all.

What I need to know is: Has anyone had success with micro-dermabrasion? Or a peel? Laser? I really want my skin clear again. Help!

Hi! I had a really ‘dirty’ face apparently…LOL…and I decided to go to a medical facility to have it cleaned! I also had microdermabrasion done, but it takes a few times before you can see the difference and I ran out of $$…to feed the dog! LOL  It’s pretty intense – they squeeze out ever single pore, and believe it or not, at the end of the hour and a half, you don’t even have a RED FACE! So awesome you want to just keep going back…but they raise their prices faster than gas! And, just to let me know how laser felt, the technician used it on a brown spot on my leg…after several months, all that is there is a SCAR! And that sucker HURT! It felt like a rubber band snapping you (if you have three brothers you can imagine this!). So, think about thousands of rubber bands snapping all over your face! OWWWWW
