From Anonymous, on “hand lifts”
I saw the same news (I’m using the word “news” loosely) story. No wonder Boomers are the most medicated generation in history!
I am 63, and will probably never lift anything…especially my hands! If I start lifting now, well, I’ll have to start at the ankles and will more than likely end up with a beard!
Here’s a tip. You know the face creams that we all buy and after a few days it breaks us out like a 16 year old cheerleader? Or it makes us red, or it just sits on the surface? I you’re like me, unless it’s a department store brand, I hesitate to return to the drug store. Use it on your hands! It works! The skin on your hands is tougher and not as sensitive as your face. So put that cream to work!

I was just talking with a friend about this! At about age 40-41 I was getting nails and fills every 3 weeks. I held out at my hands and admired them and said “Don’t my hands look great”, and my manicurist said, “For a 40 year old”.
That was the end of my nails with her! Now 15 years later my hands are gnarled with veins and scars and I think with polish on my nails that I do myself, they still look great!
I do what my grand mother told me to..vasiline on my hands, and put on white golves at bedtime, wake up to soft hands, that look better…
Vaseline is great for moisturizing, but it does nothing for the age spots that appear on your hands. That’s why I use the face cream I use to correct age spots, fine wrinkles, and moisturize, also on my hands. I am not sure why we spend so much time and money on our face creams for anti-aging effects, but forget our hands. Use your face cream on your hands and see a difference in time.
Does anyone have experience with paraffin wax treatments for hands? I received a home-care paraffin bath, but haven’t tried it yet. I have terribly dry hands that crack frequently, even with the “white glove treatment” at bedtime. I’m looking for something that will help my hands. Any advice appreciated! Thanks!
Moisturize every time you wash your hands. And don’t make a habit of using your hands to clean — dishes, the sink, and any other chemicals — wear gloves.
Look for a moisturizer that holds up to several hours after washing.
If your hands get cracked, or have rough spots, and can catch on soft fabrics like lingerie, then you really want to use a product that exfoliates first, and then moisturize.
I don’t want to sound like a sales person, but Mary Kay Cosmetics has a great product called satin hands.
