Advice please – I want a tattoo for my 50th birthday

My big 50 birthday is fast approaching…

For the last 6 months I have had it in my mind that I want to do something completely unlike me to celebrate the occasion.

A trip to Scotland- unfortunately not the best timing financially.

Skydiving- I am afraid to fly!

A tatoo- well maybe, ok, well what if it’s hidden, a small one maybe?

All to say that I would love to have a small tatoo that is not prominent. I am not the type to get addicted and end up with 20 or so…

So, I had a great idea for one that I would love. Just a tiny one-5 little letters. The first letters of all my children’s names. In an inconspicuous place.

But, I do have some questions…

Is there anyone out there, who at the age of 50 had the urge to get their first ever tatoo?

Anyone who decided it needs to be on the ring finger of their right hand? I decided that putting it here would be easily hidden with a ring for formal occasions, or for hiding it from people I don’t want to see it. Close to my heart, but not right our there!

I need some help with this.

And, how do I go about finding a reputable tatoo parlor that I won’t end up getting blood poisoning from?

So, all you ladies, give me your opinions about tatoos- pros and cons, most- and less painful areas, best parolors to go to!
