I cant believe I let it happen again. I let a guy in and now that it didnt work out I am sitting here feeling terrible. Even though I was lonely before at least I had my emotions under control. I know this feeling will pass and believe me,,,,never again.

The toughest part for me, as an adult who has put my difficult childhood behind me, is dealing with family members who are in denial about anything being amiss about how we were raised and the impact this has had on our on-going relationships.

I hope you are wrong about the never again part.
I do remember the feeling. But I also KNOW that feeling is temporary and it can be replaced with new feelings.
I had many false trips into that realm………..but I met the best man ever for me in my mid 40s………six years ago.
And he has been worth every moment of sadness I experienced on the way to meeting and loving him. I learned so much about me, about life, and about commitments through painful experiences……….that I now get to share with him successfully.

Breaking up can be horribly painful, but I hope you won’t shut yourself off from love because of the pain. I lost my beloved husband to cancer, and I grieved so hard for more than a year that it felt like an elephant was constantly kicking me in the stomach while a dull, serrated knife carved pieces out of my heart. I have never felt such pain.
And yet, if anyone asks (and some did!) whether I would do it again, knowing how it ended after just 7 years together, I would say, oh, yes! Love is worth it. And we can’t find love until we’re willing to open ourseves completely to it.

Give yourself credit for at least giving love a try. Once your broken heart heals, and it will heal, thank God for the blessings you do have in your life. Alot of people in relationships are unhappy if that is any consolation. Some are happy but maybe God has something else in mind for you right now. Pray about it, ask God to let his will be done and not yours. “Jesus take the wheel” maybe he can help you get thru this.
