Witnessing a Miracle of Love!

Gentle Luke

Have you ever met someone and felt as though you had been in the presence of an incredible amount of light and love? This morning I experienced such a meeting; one that I have no doubt will live with me forever. I was at the hospital having my blood checked when I came across a two year old baby boy and his mother.  For some reason I could not take my eyes of this little boy. All I could think about when I saw him was this must be the face of angelic innocence. The love he shared with his mother was the purest love I’ve come across in my lifetime.

I kept thinking she is the perfect example of motherhood yet not really knowing why I was feeling that way. I was compelled to pass on a heartpass to her and tell her how grateful I was to be witness to their loving relationship. She then introduced me to her little boy asking me if I knew who he was. She said his name is Luke and he is blind. I sensed something was unique about him but never did it enter my mind that he could not see. He was walking around exploring as little boys do, never bumping into anyone and instinctively knowing when there was something or someone in his path. I asked her if he could see anything and she said that he was in total darkness. Every word she spoke was as kind and gentle as the essence of this little angel before us.  She was so much in love with her son; so grateful to be his parent, and so in awe of his gifts.

I know we are all born to bring gifts into this world but I never truly understood the magnitude of that until today. I wish you could meet Luke and his mom because you would be overwhelmed by the feeling it would leave in your heart.

Here is the kicker. This young mother told me I had made her day when I passed her the kindness heart and talked to her about what she and Luke shared. I was humbled by her words because there is no doubt in my mind it was I who had received the gift, along with everyone fortunate to be in their presence. Perhaps Luke lives in darkness as we may define it, but I believe everything about him is made of the Light and he sees more than most people.

I learned today there is no such thing as blindness when love is present. Thank you Luke!

Beautiful sharing! Thank you!! “Seeing” has much more to do with the heart than with sight. :)

Thank you for sharing Luke’s Love with us all. I had a nephew, Rodney, who had severe physical problems all of his short life. He had 3 separate genetic disorders that made life very challenging for him & his family. One of them was so rare that he was one in less than 50 people in the world known to have had it and ALL the other children with it had dies before they reached the age of 8. He lived to me 32. Along with the short life expectancy his bones would brake very easily but then they would heal very quickly making it hard to have them set properly. Because of his prolonged age he was used as a study of the disorder (yes kind of a Ginny-pig but without all the strange medicines).

This young man’s mind and spirit developed with great wisdom, kindness, gratitude, tolerance, and Job, from the Bible, had only a small amount of patience when compared to Rodney. I know that everyone who had this young man touch their lives was blessed in every way. There are physical Angels walking among us every day. Some have left the earth now others haven’t.

SO thank you Rodney & Luke….and thank you Sis and Luke’s mom for being the kind of moms that God can trust with these special ‘angels amongst us.

I think they are here to teach us about the wondrous spirit of humanity. Sometimes we look at souls such as Rodney and Luke and feel sorry for them because of their limitations. Perhaps it is we who have the limitations. They walk this earth with love and acceptance for all without any condition. I would like to think I have bigger heart tonight after meeting Luke and hearing about Rodney. That is the power of sharing stories and welcoming the magic between the words. Thank you Vibrant Nation for creating this online home where we are given the opportunity to be awe inspired.
