The purpose of the vent tent is to vent. I’m not asking advice, nor seeking feedback. It drives me up the wall when my husband cannot go out the door, without turning around and telling me to do something. Assigning tasks. As if I don’t work full time as he does. It might be, are you doing laundry today? Will you pick up the dry cleaning? Whatever it is, it happens every single time he walks out the door. I hate it. Now it’s at the point that whatever he says, or assigns, or suggests most defintely does NOT get done. Thanks for the vent, I needed that.

vent u say? I am sick and tired of my jealous husband…. i am 58 for heavens sake. I keep telling him… “Get a life and get out of the house. This is florida and it is 80 degrees out there… walk the dogs, clean the yard, paint the baseboards, i have been asking u to do that for one whole year! Yesterday i went to my Xmas party and came home a little tipsy… he asks… did you bring home any food? FOOOOOOOOOOOD? ARE U KIDDING ME? COOK YOUR OWN!

My husband and I were fighting once about God knows what and this particular time I went over the threshold and to prove my point, I looked around and found a table full of dishes and reached over with my arm and wiped them out and then continued to our bedroom and started throwing his clothes on the ground saying if he wanted to leave let me help you. The silence from him and the way he was looking at me is sketched into my brain and it was 20yrs ago. It was the end of his escaping every time we had a disagreement. He would say what he wanted and then leave so he wouldn’t have to hear me. I haven’t done that or anything like it since because at that moment, I knew I was out of control and did’nt like that feeling. Or what I was capable of. Venting at a whole new level for me.
Ps. I miss those crystal goblets.
Ok, my vent of the day, if he says “huh” one more time — I don’t mumber, he is hard of hearing (and/or his mind is somehwere else, definitely not in the room with me)…..I am starting to collect 5 cents every time he says huh…..should be able to retire in about a month….

i guess i don’t get your vent tent idea because if all you want to do is vent then find a room in your house where you can be by yourself and say or yell what you said to us. the fact that you are venting on the internet tells me you do want a reaction. ”me thinks though dost protest too much.”

I agree justdish. This apparently is not a place to post something without getting a reply. After all, it does say “response”…But, notice, I am responding to you, justdish, because she specifically asked for us not to respond in any way…I think what she needs is to blog or journal her feelings, privately…and then, there will not be any response whether it be to help, discuss, or condemn…=]
By venting here you get to see other people with similar issues without listening to the “glass half full” well intended advice. During a vent is not the time for advice, that comes later. Reading other peoples peeves may help you to laugh at your own.
Today’s Vent! On the good and bad list my husband is a great shopper does very well on a small budget. His secret… he starts shopping for Christmas on the 23rd! I just wish he would wrap them!
