I drove and have lived with two men who drove. They have both passed away.  I also ran the office for the small company one of them owned. The best time of my live was driving truck. We hauled cattle from western Canada to Ontario and then switched to running California to Ontario, Canada. I now have two truck drivers renting my basement apartment. It takes a good man to drive truck and a better women to live with one. I belong to ATW-a truckers wife,

      Hey Restless,

Thanks for the reply.  My boyfriend drives with a new company, been with them a couple of months now.  It’s a pretty darn good deal, except he is still out about two weeks at a time. He hauls from where we are in CA through OR, WA, ID, MT so far.  We have been together two years now, in the beginning he was on a medical leave and so we were able to spend a lot of time together before he got back OTR. If it were not for that time together I don’t think I would have been able to make this work!  He was driving cross country then and was out 2 to 3 weeks, so this is much better and the company rewards it’s drivers well.  I have not driven, I would like to learn.  I did ride with him for two weeks over last Thanksgiving and it was one of the best experiences of my life!!  I kept a journal and took pictures throughout and plan to make a book out of it. I belong to another truckers site called Chicken Truckers, but know there would be some drivers and drivers wives/girlfriends here as well.  So good to talk with you.  Bye the bye, he is a good man and good driver as you say that’s what it takes, and it’s no lie it’s hard to be the one home too.
