I am sometimes jealous.  I think your healthcare for the most part far exceeds ours in quality and bang-for -the-buck.  You have a beautiful country, the scenery is awesome and very impressive.  Your highway patrol/mounties post radar speed checking spots on the internet– so totally fair play!  You all seem very friendly to me, I have yet to meet a rude northern neighbor..  I have a couple friends in a smallish town on Vancouver Island, they are wonderful hosts, very friendly and welcoming.  The ferry system (BC) is awsome and the way they park motorcycles makes SOOO much sense!!! (I travel by motorcycle every year and the WA st ferry system– well I could say a few choice words but I am grateful for what we DO have….)  I also appreciate the overall peaceful style of life; peace-loving and no guns allowed.  You guys are peace-mongers and we could learn a lot from your ideas and attitudes!  I love your great sense of humor, don’t ever stop laughing at stuffy us!!!  You poke fun at such common human things, and you are able to show why we really are funny beings.  It makes so much sense.  Life is too short to be as self-absorbed and serious as we ameicans are…  You are far more relaxed and less worried about stuff than we are– or so it looks to me from down here.   So for my part, what I think of you is all positive…  so there!!!   ;-D  hugs!

ps…  I was really really bummed when the Identification requirements changed after 9-11.  I used to be able to just hop on the Victoria Ferry to come up to visit, now I need a passport.  Which I keep procrastinating about getting. *sigh*  stupid US govt…  I honestly dont think our worst threat is going to come from Canada!!  PuuuhhhlEEEZE!!  thanks for listening to me rant!

I live about an hour from the Canadian border, and cross frequently to go to the Falls, so beautiful frozen in the Winter, but I really love all the gardens in the summer….Niagara on the Lake is one of my favorite places to take a day trip……I have been going to the falls since I was about 5 years old, that’s 55 years total that I have been every year at least once.  A lot of our family vacation trips when my kids were little were in Shining Tree, Ontario….on Houston Lake…..what a great get away and family time together…..I surely do miss those times…..
