I asked mine could I park my schoolbus at his gas station.
WHEN I had down time 9;30-1? IN A FEW WEEKS.WE talked of
going out to eat. That became a regular.AND 25YRS .LATER,HERE WE ARE.
#1 I met in a Speech class. He spoke very well.
#2 Was the church pastor.
On Christmas day 2004 I fell and broke my nose and split my lip open. Fast forward past the emergency room marathon. Two days later on the 27 I was feeling sorry for my self so I got on line in a yahoo chat room for country music. I know not the best place to be… but there I was. I had been in the room before and had been hit on by guys but never really gave them the time of day. Once in a while I would chat with them until they ask my bra size then I would Iggy them.
Well on this day a guy came on and wanted to chat… my normal outlook was ‘Hummm ok how fast will this one get to the bra size’. But 4 hours later he still hadn’t ask the question and I was really enjoying talking to him.
Because one of my sons and his wife were moving out of town and they are really techno kids they had given me a web cam for Christmas so I could see them & the grandkids. Well this guy I was talking to did ask if I had a web cam so he could see what I looked like. SURE ! ! ! ROFLOL I told him NO and e-mailed him a photo.
Now you have to remember that there was more than “safety, I’m not going there” reasons I wasn’t going to let this guy know I had a web cam. There were, after all the 2 black eyes, nose that looked like a balloon, and an upper lip that was so swollen it hung ½ down my chin. Even if I trusted this guy with my life I was NOT going to let him see me that way.
Well that’s how Gil and I met. I was living in Tempe Arizona and he was living in Las Vegas NV.
I did forget to tell you that when he turned on his web cam for me to see what he looked like what came over the view screen was a bit diffrent. He was on his sister-in-laws computer and she had goofed up the color on it… he came over all green. So I was looking at the jolly green man. LOL
I was driving my friend to Boston and had to go across Canada and upper NY so we needed a male to help drive back with me incase something happened to the car (wasn’t a very good car) and my friend said I know this guy that is like everybodies little brother. I was sick of relationships and already been through a divorce with a little girl. He did not take the hint to get lost If it was todays world I probably would have called him a stalker LOL That was 32 yars ago and been married for 29 yrs It took him that long to convince me.
We met at Moonlight Roller Rink in Pasadena. I went with a girlfriend and he was there with a friend in the Navy who lived there. I was looking for a piece of gum in my purse and without saying a word, he held his package of gum up and I took a piece. During the all men’s skate, he was standing at the edge. I went by and said “what’s the matter don’t you fit in that category?” The next all skate he skated up to me and said “you know it’s all your fault, I fell trying to prove something to you, split my trousers and had to get another pair from the car.” We skated the next couples. That was in August 1964, we were married January 1965 and the rest is history.
AS I grewup I d hoped to be a PRO.skater.But,my parents couldn t afford it. So,I was
loving every chance at the roller rink, that I could. Iwas upset to get socks or skates dirty.
I bet your now husband was glad other pants were in his car!.SOMETHING LIKE THAT,
I THINK, ID HAVE HID UNDER THE SEATS! GOODLUCK TO YOU BOTH.
My parents died when I was 3 years old and the lady next door took me in. I met my husband at the age of 4 when we moved from TX to AL. We were always best friends but both of us married someone else in the same year, had children, divorced after 25 years and found each other again. Together we have 7 children and 11 grandchildren. It was meant to be from the beginning.
I was 18 and would go to a 18-21 dance club (1976) here in SF Bay Area. I was walking by the bar, and Tom was sitting there drinking a cherry coke, had sunglasses on, a hat and a sweat shirt with ripped off sleeves. He taps me on the shoulder as I walked by, lifted the cherry to his mouth, licked it and said “excuse me is this yours?” I said “your an ass”……….and the rest is history. We just celebrated 31 years of marriage on Jan. 20 2010. And we have tattoos to commemorate that fateful meeting…..
let me guess…tattoos of a cherry?
as a matter of fact it is actually a vintage brooch with cherry jewels.. I love your internet love story!
It was a blind date that my girlfriend and her boyfriend had put together. The most interesting part of all was before we met, I had spent a weekend with another girlfriend and she just happened to live in the same community that my now husband lived. I had a strong indication while visiting her that this would be where my future husband would come from. At that point we had not even met. God is so amazing. He puts all the pieces together. We will have been married 38 years this March, have 2 sons and 6 grand kiddies!
Thanks to all the ladies who shared.
My best friend worked for him for several years and a couple of years after his divorce, suggested I meet him. I declined – several times! I finally went to meet him, thinking, “Maybe now she will leave me alone!”
He called me to go out again a couple of weeks later. We had fun, saw each other every three or four weeks for several months, then began to get together weekly. After two years we got married and still are having fun!
