I’m visiting my mother for a few days. She has no internet access. As a result I am limited to piggy backing on nearby unsecured networks. I can’t always get a signal. I MISS YOU GUYS!
Any suggestions for getting better signals from her home would be greatly appreciate. (Yes, I can go to the nearest Starbuck’s, but there’s only so much coffee I can drink-lol).

Hi Olga! Do you have a 3G phone? Maybe you could use that to get online while you’re visiting your mother. If not, have a great visit. We’ll miss your voice, though, so hurry back!
No, but gonna look into it.
Definitely you need an iphone~! Oh it is cumbersome to use to post, but it is an avenue that works nonetheless
Actually you need to get your mother internet access, and hook her up with VN too~~~~
I would love to have Olga’s Mom on here!
I’ve been meaning to check on one of those.
As for my mom, I don’t think so. Number one, she doesn’t even like to use a cell phone, and number two, she’s not into politics. Now, I do have a couple of cousins over 50 that I’ve been trying to get on VN…………they would be lots of fun, especially on the political posts.
I have a laptop that I can do the same things on no matter where I am if I can get a cell phone signal. When we go somewhere and I know there is going to be something, like pay a bill, that needs to be done while we’re gone, I’ll take the laptop. It works for the essentials. It also works so I don’t have VN withdrawal! (smile)
I have my laptop with me. And I’m in Miami, so there’s no problem with phone signals. How does the cell phone thing work?
I got a connection from a phone service provider. It’s basically another cell phone dedicated for internet use. Where I got my laptop (Radio Shack) I asked how do I get hooked up to go online anywhere. They sent me to the phone place. They set it up and it costs me $29.95 a month. Ask your current cell phone provider about it.
thanks!
