Coffee or Tea?

I am a coffee person myself with moderation, I also drink herbal teas occassionaly. Thinking of coffee brings pleasant memories to me from my childhood, do you have any great or small coffee memories you would lke to share with us, I write poetry about my experience as a child with my mother and her coffee which was like a “Calgon Moment” for her it was her small “luxury” of life. I believe people sit and drink coffee to make conversation, unlke some drinks that many times turn into a brawl, Coffee houses are special places and people pay for “experience of conversation or surrounding”more than the coffee.

I call it that for me , don’t smoke.don’t “drink”, don’t do drugs ie, prescription or illegal, don’t chase men….. I enjoy a cup with my DH and by myself, it feels good to hold on to something warm and  remember good times and relaxing moments.

Love my coffee! Don’t even talk to me until I get that first sip in the morning. Even the animals know that first the coffee is put on to brew and THEN they get fed. They all sit awaiting their breakfasts patiently while “mom” gets the coffee on. I do enjoy tea during the day but the morning is for my coffee addiction.

I can remember some very funny times with my mother and coffee.  She was a coffee nut and there are lots of stories about her idiosyncratic behaviors when having her coffee.  We were camping with my parents when we were first married.  So my husband didn’t really know my parents.  My mom made coffee and sat down at the table outside our camper.  She took her first sip and made the most orgasmic sound of pure ecstacy.  My husband thought she’d been attacked or something.  He bounded off the bed and was out the door to protect my mom when he saw her just sitting there with this peaceful and happy look on her face.  When he realized what happened, he started laughing.  We laughed most the morning.  We can still talk about that time and it makes us laugh.

I love that story, recently a member of our family passed, we had an unusual relationship as he loved me to “tell him off” and joke in  away with him that no one could, we had what seemed in  a funny way a “hate-love” relationship, So when he passed expectantly for days we had “strange things happen , like the time we were standing in line in Marshall’s and it seemed as if someone  passed by in  a hurry and you could feel the air , a lady in line turned to see who it was as my daughter turned also, and she felt his essence… there were many little “sighting” and things during that first week. He knew I liked coffee and one evening something happen that had never happen to me before, I dozed off in a chair and spilled coffee over my lap!! I jump up and he was the first “person” that came to my mind, I said OK , I know you tilted that cup over in my lap!! my husband has teased me , because I am the one who always lay dowm or go to bed when I get sleepy, not nodding off like he does so it really gave him a laugh.

Was raised by  committed coffee drinkers, morning coffee, coffee breaks and coffee after dinner.  Strangely enough, NONE of their offspring imbibe coffee. Dad said he knew Mom was pregnant the first time because she got up and the smell of brewing coffee WHICH SHE LOVED & SENT HER INTO BLISS made her throw up. She was unable to stand the smell of coffee let alone the taste the entire time she was pregnant with me.  I can not even stand to be in the same room with brewing coffee, lol.  I am a tea enthusiast! My sister in law, niece and I are happiest with a hot cup of tea firmly enclosed within our hands.  Sister in law loves Earl Grey, niece the Asian inspired teas, and me I have three favorites.  I love chai tea, plantation mint and some of the roobios.  We always love having friends over for formal/informal teas.

The first thing mom demanded after giving birth was a cup of hot coffee, lol. She eventually forgave me.

I have three children and two drink coffee and one drinks tea,

Coffee is a symbol of conversation and togetherness my DH and I collect coffee cups

I can tell sometimes the mood he is in by the cup he chooses for me.

There is one cup I use for him when I am a little Miffed with him but not angry enough to refuse to drink it says on the cup ONE OF A KIND, as we drink I smile for he is my one of a kind  (l0l)
