    Hi Joann!

You are right!  This is a wonderful way to start!  First of all, I want to tell you how terribly sorry I am about the loss of your dear husband.  It’s always difficult but just before the Holidays makes it absolutely unbearable.  You will find a lot of gals on this site who can really empathize.  And, Vibrant Nation is a very nurturing place to come and share your joys AND your sorrows.

Celebrating 4 years of being cancer free is a huge step!  One more to go and you should be home free.  Isn’t that right?  Again, you will find so many women who can share their stories with you on the subject of cancer.

I’m so happy you found us.  VN is a sisterhood of wonderfully intelligent and caring women.  Don’t be shy.  We’d all love to get to know you!

Joanie. I’m so sorry for your lose and so thankful for your restored health. This is a remarkable community.

A group of us are starting an online book club next week. We are reading Marrying George Clooney by Amy Ferris. She is a very active member of VN and will participate in the discussion. Could be fun for you and a way to connect regularly with a group of women. Please join us and KNOW that we are all in this together. Women need Women.

I join the others in welcoming you. Having lost my husband also, I know that a live support group is really important, too — hearing other stories, getting hugs, getting the perspective of the leaders who deal with this on a daily basis. Are you in one?

One-on-one counseling was also essential to help me through the gur-wrenching grief. I don’t know how I would have pulled through without it. I hope you’ll make use of every bit of support that’s available in your area, Joanie.

As women, breast cancer is a common thread that connects us to one another. If we haven’t been diagnosed with the disease, we have loved ones who havebeen and weall  live in fear of finding that lump ourselves.

I am a writer, and working on a piece that has various women telling their own unique stories. Breast cancer is a story that needs telling, over and over again until there is no  more breast cancer.

I am interviewing now and would appreciate speaking to any of you who are interested. You can send me a private message and I will get you my personal email and phone number. This has been a remarkable project to be involved in and I am honored by the trust placed in me.
