It was brought to my attention by a good friend that most of my problems were the result of being a people pleaser. This was several years ago, and I was shocked until I realized she was right. I set about course correcting it for my own sake and this week I saw that people pleasing was a thing of the past for me. I was in a meeting and someone who had been in the group longer took umbrage at my leadership in the group. She rolled her eyes, gave snide comments while I just soldiered on. It simply didn’t matter anymore. In truth I could see that her reaction had everything to do with her and nothing, I mean nothing, to do with me.
