| 2 yr old calling dad by his first name |
My 2yr old grandson has started calling my son, his dad, by his first name. This is because my son also has a 7yr old stepdaughter that calls him by his first name so of course it was bound to happen. My son wants him to call him dad or daddy. Any suggestions?

my stepkids still call their dad by his name. we have been together over 7 yrs, but when we first started dating I had to ask if they were his kids as this was something new to me.I dont refer to him by name when talking to the kids ages 22 and 19 about their dad its always dad. they do intruduce him as my dad
Morning, There’s not law that we have to be called mom or dad! In relationship we/they are our parents. My nepphew calls his father by his first name, but the respect and love that flows from the both of them is well worth the trip. my neice always let her son call her by her given name which happens to be Wendy. I remember thinking sounded so odd. he’s an adult now, and I don’t know what he calls her now, but they have the most wonderful loving, and close relationship.
