Got Married Today

I just thought I would share with my friends here on VN that I married my spousal equivalent today so now he is my husband.  That will take some getting used to.  

Since I am too sick to actually plan something for a specific day, we just hoped for the best and made an appt. with the County Recorder's Office to get our license and get married all at once.  It was just the two of us and my friend of 40 years and a friend of Matt's who is one of my favorite people on earth.  We are lucky to have friends who will put things on hold for a "maybe we're getting married today."  They both understand the situation of course.  

It was a beautiful day today so we got married outside under a pretty tree.  I was very tired after that so we came home for me to rest.  Anyway, I just wanted to share this bit of news with you.

Thank you and yes, that is my newest granddaughter.  She looks almost exactly like my daughter did when she was a baby.  It's uncanny.

Thank you.  I realize how lucky I am to be so in love for so long especially going through what we continue to go through because of my health situation.  I never knew it was possible to feel this way.

I am glad I did it though.  Matt is SO happy.  I haven't seen him this jazzed about something in a long time.  I am happy too of course. :-)

Funny you would say that.  I always imagined myself having kind of hippie wedding on the beach, flowers in the hair, etc. but I just wore black jeans and a sweater.  I haven't been well enough to even pick out a ring.  We tried to look one day but only made it to two places and we had to come home.  I asked him to just buy a white gold band and he wouldn't.  He wants us to pick something out together.  He wants it to be exactly what I want.  He wants it to be platinum instead of white gold.  He acts like I'm going to be wearing it for years.  He is so happy.  He has told me how happy he is to be married every day since we did it and he has called me his wife about three or four times each day too.  It's really cute.
