Harley Jane Kozak is a friend of mine who writes books that are riotously funny and smart. Her female character finds herself working as an amateur sleuth trying to solve a murder mystery.

I tried to read Dating Dead Men last night but just couldn't get into it. I guess I better stick with Janet Evanovich, Donna Andrews, Meredith Blevins, Jennifer Crusie, Dixie Cash and others. I realize that having four books published represents a real achievement in these hard times for authors. Sometimes the sense of humor between author and reader just doesn't mesh. 

So I encourage everyone out there to check this series out. Maybe it tickles your fancy.

I'm back! Last night, Thursday night, Feb 4th, I picked up another book "Dead Ex" by Harley Jane Kozak. I finished it about 4am this morning. This was a really good book and I highly recommend it. The plot is interesting and different, obviously the writer has worked in the TV "soap" industry and her description of this industry rings true. Her characters are well defined and likeable. The plot was fast placed with lots of tension, twists and turns.

So, while I can't say that I found the book "riotously funny"; I enjoyed it to the point that I read all night! I'm going back "Dating Dead Men" and give it another try.

Love mysteries, but never heard of Harley Jane Kozak, have to give her a try. Always looking for new authors & books to read.
