I wrote a poem to read to the gathering at my son's engagement party. His soon to be inlaws were in tears and came up to me to hug and kiss me for reading it. I altered the work to speak to faith. I was looking for inspiration this morning and asked for your prayers. But this poem seems to be what God wants me to reflect on because it fell out of my journal while I was looking for some of my writing to console me. Here it is:
Eternal Bliss
Eternal bliss, what is this?
Two hearts that beat as one.
In summers heat,
in winters cold,
in times of sorrow,
in times of fun,
These hearts do beat as one.
The truest love
is love that tried.
Both by the hand of man and forge of God.
And finding thus to be so found,
This love is true, this love is sound.
And down the road, and looking back on lifes somtimes treacherous track,
It won't be luck that saw me through,
It was HIS love, both tried and true.
