I have to share this product for curly hair that frizzes up!
posted 12/13/2009, 11:33PM new!

I have curly hair that becomes frizzy and wild the moment there is any humidity in the air. Two months ago, my hairdresser told me about this new product he was going to use on my hair and he said it would change my life. I laughed and of course didn't believe him.

I have to say -this product is the first anti frizz leave in conditioner that actually changes the texture of my hair and it STAYS smooth after blow drying it even if I walk thru fog and mist ! My daughter's wedding is on the beach in Mexico in February and I now know I will have silky smooth hair and I feel terrific about that. The product is somewhat pricey but if you get frizz - it is unbelievable . The product is called Keratase oleo-relax slim -it is only sold in some select salons but is worth every penny.

I only use the leave in conditioner because that is all I need but they also have shampoo and other products. I am SO happy to have found this that I had to share it with my Vibrant sisters. Let me know if you try it.

A new product for me to help me with semi curly hair with very dry ends is Moroccan Oil. You put it on after you wash and condition it - before you dry your hair.  Rub the oil on the ends and a little everywhere.  It doesn't seem to get oily no matter how much I use.  (it smells so good! like Morocco mabe).  It really changed the texture of my hair.  I've reccommended this product to two people in the last week and they loved it.  I'm not big on changing anything but my hair was dry and I couldn't do anything with it.  It sounds so trite, but this works.

brazilian keratine for smooth, shiny, straight hair.  the process is a bit long - 3 days, but it is worth it!  Buy it on ebay.  It will cut the blow drying process to half the time.

Thanks for this tip, Susie. I'll ask my hairdresser about Keratase oelo-relax slim. I'm usually able to control my hair with a straight iron, but like you, when I go to the tropics, I look like a wild thing.

Have fun in Maui, and blessings to your son on his wedding. You'll look gorgeous!

Try ebay for obtaining it...I get most of my "expensive" personal care items from there at 1/2 price.  Kerastase is a wonderful brand.

I have curly hair also. I was so tired of trying so many shampoos and conditioners since I feel my curly hair tends to be dry and have split ends which adds to the frizz. I think I could actually hear my hair suck up the moisture and humidity!! I love the body that my curly hair has, but when I used conditioners it would take the body out and still frizz. So, I created my own shampoo recipe (Sassy Goat Milk Soap Conditioning Shampoo) made with fresh goat milk from my own goats and all natural ingredients. Just fresh goat milk, olive oil, safflower oil, coconut oil and castor oil. That's it. No preservatives or fillers at all! My Sassy Goat Milk Soap Shampoo bar is highly moisturizing for your hair. You will not need a conditioner, meaning you can keep the body in! I do not have split ends anymore and my hair is manageable. I also on very humid days, add just a touch of John Frieda Hair Serum. After using my shampoo bar for 5 years, my hair is moisturized, my scalp is moisturized - no flakes at all, and I am extremely happy with the shine that the goat milk adds! I sell my Sassy Goat Milk Conditioning Shampoo bar for $4.00 each for about a 3-ounce bar. I now sell this all over the US and around the world! I also offer free shipping with a $25.00 or more order (within the US). I make my Sassy Goat Milk Shampoo bar three different ways - unscented, with a calming Lavender scent, and with stimulating Spearmint scent. I am also working on a new formula which will include Shea Butter - which is excellent for your hair and scalp. A good shampoo is not only good for your hair, but is also good for your scalp. Check out what my customers say on my Testimonial page of my website: http://sassygoatmilksoap.com.

I just purchased this product from my hairdresser yesterday, Susie! Both my hair designer and colorist recommended it strongly, but it's nice to have a client's opinion as well.

So do you only use the product when you want to straighten your hair, or do you use it all the time for frizzies, when you wear your hair curly?

perlesrose said to web Susie 12/13/2009, 11:33PM new!

Does it work if you don't blow dry?  I wash and wear my hair.

web Susie said to perlesrose 12/13/2009, 11:33PM new!

I don't dare not blow dry my hair. I no longer wear my hair curly because it just doesn't look professional on me and I have gotten great feedback on my new straight bangs/above the shoulder haircut. It is a sexy contemporary take on the old fashioned pageboy cut.

I only use the Keratase Oleo slim product  right after shampooing my hair (only once a week) -it changes the texture to straight and silky smooth and between shampoos , during the week-every morning I only blow dry spots that need some volume but no matter what kind of humidity is out there -my hair has remained non frizzy , smooth and great!

I live in Canada and I do not think we get this product in Toronto, do you know if they do.  I have very curly hair and I get the same problems I do not mind curly but do mind frizzy! I would love to find out if they do have suppliers in Canada, if this works the cost will be worth it.  Could you let me know

Yaya, hi, I'm in Vancouver  BC, and I've seen many of this line's products in higher-end salons or beauty supply type places (for hair stuff).  You shouldn't have any problem finding

it, as I think Toronto is even bigger than Vancouver. :-))  But of course, I can't know for sure

Have a great weekend, Leigh

Susie, this is a great tip--I have horribly frizzy hair in humidity, and am really tired of it.  I looked this product

up on Amazon and it had a Keratase oleo-relax slim Smoothing Creme--is that the same product that you use?

Leigh

web Susie said to Leigh 12/13/2009, 11:33PM new!

the exact words on the light brown honey colored bottle : /separate lines

Keratase Nutritive/Oleo-relax/Slim/Cera-trioleum

in both French and english:

Volume control intense smoothing cream/ Dry and very rebellious hair./Leave in

It is by L'Oreal .

I feel like a missionary bringing light to all us women with frizzy hair -I have never felt so grateful for a product like this and every day I look at my hair and can't believe it. It really lasts until the next shampoo no matter what the weather has been like . the beach in mexico will be the ultimate test but a foggy misty New York harbor left my hair unaffected so I am pretty optimistic.

I want to spread the word so everyone can enjoy this. I wish I owned the patent!

Linny said to web Susie 12/13/2009, 11:33PM new!

Can you please tell me, would that be the masque or creme? Thank you. None of the products actually mention a leave in conditioner online but I did find the Keratase Oleo-Relax Slim in both masque or creme...

Leigh said to Linny 12/13/2009, 11:33PM new!

It seems that all the women in my family have been looking for a product just like this, so

I'm looking forward to trying it out, thanks so much for mentioning this Susie!  Yes, I also saw the masque or creme forms....

Thanks so much, again......Leigh

web Susie said to Linny 12/13/2009, 11:33PM new!

I am reading off the bottle - it says cream so I wold go with that. I haven't seen a masque.

I tell you-every morning I wake up and see it is still working and cant believe it! It actually smoothes and gives a wonderful texture to my hair from one shampoo to the next. this is the first product that even when I do the blow drying (and not my expert hair stylist) it also works equally well and my hair is shiny and smooth.

Linny said to web Susie 12/13/2009, 11:33PM new!

Thanks Susie for letting me know about the cream, at $45 or $55 I wouldn't want to make a mistake! I will definitely order it and let you know. We live in Saskatchewan, Canada which is generally dry but I find whenever I travel to the eastern U.S. or Caribbean I have trouble taming my hair. So we'll see and I will let you know!

Leigh said to Linny 12/13/2009, 11:33PM new!

Yes, thanks again Susie, and Linny, please let me know your results!  I'm in

Vancouver, so you can imagine how frizzy my hair gets here, it's horrid. I lived in Calif. for several years, and it was awesome,no frizz, lol....  I have to wait till

payday to get this, but I'm definitely getting it asap. Leigh

Susie, do you color your hair as well?

web Susie said to spiritseeker 12/13/2009, 11:33PM new!

Yes, I color my hair regularly every 5-6 weeks. I do it at the same salon and they use the product on me every time i go there -the most amazing thing is that even when I do my hair at HOME -it still comes out smooth and straight from shampoo to the next shampoo -after I blow dry it.

By the way Linny - it should not be $45- I remember the price being in the 30's.
