As someone well over 50, at first the Senate's new idea to expand Medicare to my age group seemed wonderful. But what about the children? If we are going to expand Medicare, why not instead institute it for every child in the U.S., age 0-18? Many of those will be our grandchildren! What do you think?
How are we ever going to pay for it? Medicare and Medicad are going broke now. To add more and more people to it could spell financial disaster which is where we are headed anyway in this country.
Something needs to happen for those people who are not 65 and losing jobs in their 50's..like me. Expanding medicare may not be the answer...but something needs to happen...I cannot afford Cobra. It is a scarry time.
