I love purple.  But I don't have it around the house much or in clothing IDK!!?!?  Today I'm grateful that I had a class to teach tonight.  I love watching people grow and learn.

I like purple..at age fifty I fell in love with purple...what a trip!!! My shop was beautiful and dominated by purple, I ened up with 2 bolts of purple ultra suede fabric!! of which I use to drape things at shows....I painted my kitchen  walls purple,  I painted one walll in my court yard purple!

Thus I finally realized the purple had to go ..I told anybody if they saw me with anymore purple paint to take it from me (lol)

I change the kitchen back to neutral..my  husband was glad , but said as long as it didn't affect the cooking he was going to keep his mouth shut.

The wall outside showed me the reason  God made the grass green and-the sky blue and not purple...At certain times of the day the purple wall was too much. There goes balance !!

Purple is royal and majestic...but enough was enough , the fun part about paint is :  If you don't like it you can paint it over..

"Gratitude"(color meaning in personality)

.Have a good day and keep seeing people grow and learn,

My favorite color is orange (are you sure we aren't related fayetteSIPP? Same birthday, dog, etc.).

I'm grateful for my neighbors and friends and for their recent outpouring of love and offers of assistance.

I'm happy.

Orange is one of those happy colors...in fenshui it stands for fame and reputation,"intergrity"

Orange compliment my "skintone" amd I always  get compliment when I wear orange

Good neighbors are priceless, I prayed 15 years to get rid of one "bunch' in the house and God made me have patience and show some love and support to the children who  lived there, they finally moved sometimes I miss the children, but as they got older it is a good thing .(l0l)

I am forever grateful for friends ..

To have good friends and good neighbors it is because of your integrity.

I used to be uncontrollably attracted to certain pinks, from mauve to deep, passionate fuchsia tones. But for the last couple years, I've started to crave being surrounded by rust and sage. They soothe me.

I'm grateful for family members who truly love me and show it.

That's SO interesting, fayette. I had no idea what those colors and my attraction to them at different times would indicate, but your explanation is absolutely spot-on in terms of what "was" versus what has now been happening in my life.

My marriage is still very good since we're each others best friends, but the passion has dimmed due to my health problems, plus necessary prescriptions - on both sides.

My family - certain relationships had been all but destroyed by my now ex daughter-in-law. Now my stepson is with someone who truly makes him happy, and the closeness is back. It feels SO good, and yes, it very much helps me stay centered.

My favorite color is the color of the rainbow.... I am an artist each color is very important in my life.

I am most grateful for my wonderful husband. He came into my life at a time, when emotionally & morally I had started to spiral down. My love for him made me stop and want more. Interestingly enough, just the other day he told me almost the same thing about himself. He told me that if I hadn’t come into his life he would have gone back to drinking and gambling uncontrollably. We are Christians and believe very strongly that we were brought together by our Father in Heaven. He knew that we could and would help each other if we both opened to that love from each other.

I am also an artist and to the disbelief of all of my friends I stick to neutrals in the palest tones or as my DIL say ‘different shades of white’.

I love all colors because they change themselves, relative to what they sit against and what light; sun, clouds, halogen, candles, fluorescent or incandescent milieu they find themselves in.

Day in and day out I am attracted to new colors depending on my mood.

I am grateful for every morning I wake up to.

There is just something about greens for me, as long as it is accented with some reds, blues or yellows. This is the color I love to surround myself in.

As far as what to wear? Blues. Definitely blues. Shades, tints, purply blues, midnight & ink colors, muted, soft blues. All accented with ivory or white. or purples.

What I am most grateful for today is my family. All of them. I am blessed beyond words. Great husband, bright & delightful kids (most of the time), lovely mother, super brothers & in-laws, and my husbands family are all pretty cool, too. All forty of them!

My kitchen has red in it as well( my husb. laughed when I said I was making it red!). I always have a red carnation in a little glass vase by the kitchen sink, a red mat in front of the cupbd. under the sink, red & white oven mitts hanging up, a red doily on one of the cupbd. counters and a red dream catcher hanging on our kitchen bulletin bd. A girlfriend just gave me a red & white tea towel and an all red towel to hang on the oven door. Our cupbd. are ivory coloured, as are our oven, fridge with white microwave & dishwasher. Subtle, I think, but no doubt a red kitchen! Most of my clothes are red, black & white or combo, to go with my black/greyish hair!

Thank you. It is a vibrant colour to me, sort of like my personality, my mind always full of new ideas,  and my love for God. It's been a journey in life, but is so bright a colour and seems like the end result of going through dark times, etc. At times, I have tried to go towards a light blue, which seems a calmer colour and is nice, but just not for me, at this time! Maybe some day!

fayetteSIPP said to Hope2 07/21/2010, 04:31AM new!

I have found colors change in our lives as we go through things and they give us what we need ....when my mother was alive ...she lived in a house that had great turquoise blue floors in the kitchen, she didn't;t know what to do with them, it was not her house to spend lots of money changing them out so , I thought about her age and how sometimes we need a Lift in the morning...so I painted her walls a cream yellow and used wallpaper on one wall over the table and over the fur downs above the cabinets...It was the wildest modern splash colors of abstract fruit in Red blues yellows and that exact floor color.

I could not have stood that much color at that time in my life with three young kids I had color (lol) but mother loved it!!! she smiled and told every day she got up her kitchen said GOOD MORNING and put a smile on her face....that made so happy to see her enjoy her kitchen as we are "kitchen women" in my family...love the kitchen .

Sunblossom said to fayetteSIPP 07/21/2010, 04:31AM new!

Fayette....I am a kitchen person too...we partially redid our kitchen (we live in a home built in the 1800's)...so I kept some of the old cupboards because of their height and character, but we did the rest in sunny yellows, with a burgundy (like burgundy wine) countertop and white tile backsplash and sink....I know yellow and burgundy sound kind of weird, but they are just the right tones, it gets the early morning light from the sunrise and just walking int o get my coffee in the a.m. makes me smile every time....I just love to cook in there.....especially in the Winter when it gets dark so early, I have sunshine all year long in my kitchen...

fayetteSIPP said to Sunblossom 07/21/2010, 04:31AM new!

That sounds so great.... I have red cabinets  and white subway tile back splash and getting ready to install a large tile Black and cream check on the diagonal.

meditate or write my prayers in poetry.

Was going through a very dark time in my life and needed some thing to get me to see the lighter side. Red to me is such a brillant alive color, so when I open my eyes every morning and see that color I feel alive and ready to get my day off to a great start. The rest of my house is in chocolate browns and hunter green. The only calm color I have is in my dinning room, it's a mint green, my company really enjoys their dinner in that calming color.
