Hi Helen,

Almost there.  It's in the lawyers' hands now.  Negotiations didn't work.  Will cost lots of $$$$$.  Hoping I don't need a judge.

Congrats Magnolia.  We should form a club on this site.  What could we call it?

Namaste, Track, and Anir, I really don't care what we call it, I am just glad that I am a member! I can't believe that I put up with the crap that I did for so long!

Anir, How about we call it "Free At Last!!!!"? Track, Namaste and I have kind of "unoffically" started this club, but you can join, too. All others are welcome. We have had some pretty interesting topics of discussion, lately, haven't we ladies?

Guys,

You had a club and I didn't know about it?!?   Any name you choose will spell F-R-E-E-D-O-M to me!

Any writers out there?  We could have a pledge of some sort as well as a song.  It could have a blues/soul/gospel feel.  It could go something like:  I was down and out of steam, Had to get out before I threw myself in a stream.  Can you Feel it?  Can you feel it?  Yes, I can!  Yes I can!  Feel the freedom all around.  ;)

As you can tell, I am not a writer.

I've never been married - although I came close twice.  God and HIS infinite wisdom knew better on both occasions.  I have read all the posts pertaining to this and I think this is why women have DIVORCE PARTIES - similar to bridal showers - when they have sealed the deal on the end of their marriages.  Good luck and party hearty!!!

Thank you, Persimian. I love the support of the VN Ladies.

I actually pulled out my wedding dress a few weeks ago and thought about how quickly it would, no, make that 'WILL' go up in smoke when I have that party.

You are all invited.  Now my only regret is to have given him back my wedding band.  He knows where he can stick it.  I had no idea what I could have done with it.  It just now popped into my head that I could have had it melted down and transformed into a small puddle of poop.  It would have made a great conversation piece and been more representative of what our relationship was.

Oh well, it would still have been a reminder of those years and I prefer looking to the future and not the past.

Cheers!

Good for you! You made the right choice, too, gave the ring back.

lol  - small puddle of poop!!!  My mom flushed her first set of wedding rings (from her first marriage) down the toilet.

Good for her. I believe that however one deals with their frustration from a marriage is appropriate. Thanks for responding.

I'm sorry, Persimian. This comment is over my head?

I'm sorry, I ment Anir. I am not clear about your comment.

anir said to Helen Keene Myles 07/05/2010, 04:05PM new!

The comment was ment for persimian.  Her mother had flushed her wedding rings from her first marriage down the toilet, which is where you usually flush the s..t.  So the rings went to join the fraternity, i.e., the rest of the s..t, which is what her rings represented at the time and mine does now.

I sometimes try to be funny, but it doesn't always come out the right way. :(

No offense to anyone out there whose wedding bands still mean happiness to.  Good for you, it used to mean a lot to me too and Iwas hoping it would for a long time.  Just didn't happen.  Oh well, s..t hapens, that's life.   There's that word again!  I hope my kids don't read this.

That is funny. My band is somewhere. I purchased a ring black onyx, some years back. When I had it sized for my left ring finger I removed the wedding band and replaced it with the onyx. I am wearing the onyx ring today.
