I was born in Panama...the country, but consider myself an expat because I carry a Dutch passport and live in the US. I am a freelance writer living in Miami, Fl. Before that, I lived in Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles for more than 20 years. I still miss that laid-back lifestyle! Published a book about my life there and keep a blog to stay in touch. My husband's family has lived on the island since 1659! Here in Miami, I write reviews and travel pieces. This gives me the chance to explore my new home. To love a place, you have to know it.....

At 59, I don't believe in "growing" old...you slip into your years with grace and humor. Love sunsets and long walks on the beach, if not by any body of water near by! Vintage accessories are my passion, so I visit flea markets everywhere I go. With grown children, my husband and I can indulge in traveling, and we do despite my fear of flying.

ENJOY EVERY MINUTE!!!

Stop second-guessing, life will be good in Curaçao and you'll miss it! Do not wait until you have left to see that! Happiness is in the journey, it's not a destination. Here and now......every age has its rewards, enjoy every stage. Be confident, your writing is what will carry you through and it will be successful! Be assertive but not confrontational......and don't worry so much!
