my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

I feel I am a big time survivor in life. I know my sense of humor has gotten me to where I am today and all the lessons have made me "me" and on most days I think that is a good thing!

I beleive that change is essential if we want to have fulfilling and excitng lives and to make it even more interesting, we need to become more fearless. Thnigs I try on almost every day.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

I was in the adversting/publishing field and while I did love it for years, having a couple of wicked bosses (who sadly were women) made me realize that I needed to run away from that and become my own boss.

I went back to school almost 4 years ago and became a certiifed life and career coach. I also got married for the first time during that time so it was challenging but it has been worth it.

I also found my writing voice and that has been the best!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

A New York Times bestselling author who has an apartment in Manhattan and a cottage in the country with my husband and a large cast of four-legged friends.

Hopefully I won't have to wait 10 years! Working real hard on making that a reality.

Bang, Bang. The American Dream is Dying.

I was thinking about writing a blog about yet another massacre here in the US of A. But I am too angry to write; too fed up with this country and its inability or refusal to keep guns out of the hands of people who should not be able to get one legally. Who is looking out for us? When is this finally going to change - how many sweet 9 year old girls have to be shot down for us to do something? Nothing is going to change. I give up.read more »

What I Didn’t Expect to See or Hear in 2010. A Review.

I don’t do resolutions on New Year’s Eve. I have been busy making them all year long and then breaking them within 15 minutes of declaring my intentions. So whether I was wearing a low cut form fitting sequined dress or wearing a tee shirt covered with cat hair, December 31st always struck me as a day when people use up all their good will for the year. Who tells you to have a good year or a happy year except around this time? Not me.

Is Marriage dead? Or is It Just Sleeping It off in a Twin Bed?

The news buzz as of late seems to be about the death of marriage.  I am surprised that some people are surprised by this.

I think marriage is on life support.

I am Penning a Love Letter Lamenting the Death of Romance.

Is Romance in danger of joining the Tyrannosaurus? Is romance becoming something else we can live without?

A good friend of mine had just seen the musical, “South Pacific.” I saw it on PBS about 2 months ago. We both talked about how much it made us cry.  Not because there was a war going on or that Nellie thought Emile might be taken from her. It was the lyrics and the melodies that pulled at our emotions and made us both feel like we live in a world where romance is on life support.

Murder, Mayhem and Madness. Cute Actor portrays you in the film. It’s a Killer Part.

Kathie McCormack was a beautiful young woman. When I look at pictures of her, I remember an even prettier woman. I liked Kathie because she was not all about her looks and that helped because I was so insecure about mine. My three brothers had secret crushes on her. I think they might protest this proclamation now, but their older sister saw their faces. Kathie always laughed the loudest at my father’s jokes and nothing pleased my late father more then to have a beautiful woman think him the cleverest man in the room.

On January 31, 1982 Kathleen McCormack was murdered. She was declared legally deceased in December 2001, but Kathie was murdered on January 31, 1982.
