How did you get to where you are now?

You mean like my living arrangement? I rent a room in a beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood from a nice lady. I come and go as I please. I am seperated from my husband because he liked drinking and drugs more than he liked me. Things are turning around though. Slowly but surely. But it's still not enough for me to go back just yet. Time will tell.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

10 years ago I didn't have a whole lot of self esteem. I wasn't a doormat but I certainly lost a lot of the dignity I had prior to that. In the past 18 months I have reclaimed a lot of my spine that I gave away to a man(my husband). The tables have turned in my favor since I have stood my ground and demanded to be treated like a woman deserves.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Where I hope to see myself is back with my husband living and laughing again like we did during the good times when alcohol and drugs were not involved. I see him clean and sober a lot more often these days. Hopefully he will maintain this lifestyle for good.

Do not be a people pleaser. When you do, you tend to loose dignity. And loosing dignity is so harmful in the longrun because you will tend to be an unhappy person and unhappy people are not availabe to bless others during the course of a normal day.
