my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

Through a lot of mountains and valleys! I know now that I can handle most everything. You're tooling along and life happens! We never know what's in the next minute! Like Mother Teresa said, "God doesn't give me more than I can handle but He sure can bend me double." (from memory - may not be exact.)

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

I am the most at peace with myself and the world than I have been in the past 25 years. The Bible verse from Matthew that says do not worry about tomorrow because each day has enough worries of its own has been a favorite for many years. And I finally understand it. Also, I am trying to be my best mentally and physically. I want to be able to live my "golden years".

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Retired. Doing what I want - within reason - traveling with my husband. Loving my children and hopefully, grandchildren. Finding new and exciting interests and people.

a postcard to my younger self

Forget about boys - you'll meet your love after you graduate and he only lives about a half mile from your parent's home. Take a geography class! Concentrate on your education and try to figure out a career that you'll love. Don't be afraid of changes!

my role models

The grown women of the 60s and 70s who helped us be ourselves, who helped us realize that we are equal (even though some will never accept this), especially my mother who drove a truck and wore pants and loved my father.
