Holleyhock

I am married with two adult daughters. One is a junior in college and the other graduated from college in May 2009.  I am a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.  I have an undergraduate degree in English and a Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling.  I have sewn for fun since I was in grade school. I learned to sew in 4-H.  I also like to knit for relaxation. I like to walk and work out a little at the YMCA to keep in shape.

my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

I grew up in a family of 7. My father was a High School administrator and my mom was a Home Ec teacher, although she was always a Stay at Home Mom as I grew up.  I live in Northern Minnestota and am married to a Forester which explains why I moved so far north.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

10 years ago, both my daughters lived at home and were active in school. I was totally immersed in being a working mom. Today, I live at home with my husband and we are what one would call empty nesters. I am trying to redefine my life and not get sad that I'm no longer a young mom. It hasn't been easy for me.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years I'll be 64 years old. I'll be ready to retire. I want to purchase a camper and travel to the state parks. We'll probably start doing that as soon as our youngest daughter is out of college. Right now we're helping her financially. I'm certain I'll still be knitting and sewing and reading books.
