I had been divorced from my first husband for fourteen years when I met my present husband. He's my soul mate and he was well worth the long wait. We've been together fifteen years and just celebrated another anniversary. I hope we're together until we're old and creaky. Well, older and creakier!
I am a retired teacher. I'm also the first person in my father's family to earn a degree. I have two daughters who turned out to be women of courage, honor, humor and love. They're the realization of my highest hopes and I'm more proud of them than anything I've done in this life.
Now I am constructing art through photojournaling. I'm learning that art is a process and a direct reflection of who I am.
I taught at-risk high school students and I loved every minute I was with them. I know I couldn't help everyone of them, but I know I helped some and that fills me with gratitude.
Although I've had a great deal of sadness in my past, I know I can't allow it to shape the present. I focus on the positive and the joy that I'm surrounded in now. It's not always possible.
