my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

I never asked a direct report to do anything I wouldn't do.  Expected those who reported to me to work as diligently as I did.  Respect for diversity and the individual.  I worked many weekends, holidays and evenings to get my promotions.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

Ten years ago I didn't think retirement would ever get here, nor did I expect to need work on my heart... or that medical care would excede the cost of a home.

I didn't think I would ever want to leave my position, but it was more than time for a change.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In the middle of a second career with my own workshop on the side.

Bekah,

You will love visiting Israel take lots of film with you!!!  Purchase the sedar plate you you fell in love with you will still love 20 years later and regret it if you don't.

Your parents and gradparents are not here forever.... TAKE NOTES TAPE, RECORD STORIES!! The more pictures of them the better.

Learn to take better care of yourself, your teeth and INVEST more and plan ahead .                                                                                                                                                                                               Finish your college degree.... no matter what Mom says get your degree in Business & Accounting, the future lays here.

Enjoy your career.  You will have some of the best crews in the building.   You will have co workers and friends that will last your lifetime. The accomplishments will give you joy.

Label anything you put in  storage.  Go through the things periodically. Encase and protect pictures and negatives.   Date photos!!!!

my role models

The women of my family are strong and talented.Their talents range from oil painting, quilting, interior design, singing and running businesses.  They are strong in the faith and beliefs.

I was particularly fond of my grandmothers.  They were both strong career women in a time when women were "suppose to be" at home.  They also had very rich home lives .  Both had gardens, one did beautiful crochet work, the other did goregeous embroidery.  The both quilted, sang in the choir  and could they cook!  I was always in awe of them.  One was a nurse and the other held rank in the Salvation Army.  Both had been through the Great Depression ( I think we're in another one) and managed to keep their homes (and the farm) and their families feed.  If I can accomplish half of what they did
