My Blog Circle:

I am sixty-something woman with a very ordinary life or to some an extraordinary life. The path to where I am now will be covered in the next section on how I got to where I am. So as to my bio let's just stick to the facts. I was born to very interesting parents, in Boston, Massachusetts. My Mother had been a singer and had made a couple of movies for RKO, very unusual in Boston. My Father was a retailer and I guess considered quite a catch as a bachelor. Nine years older than my Mother, I think meeting my Mother put an end to his bachelor days. I grew up in a reasonably normal household, if there is such a thing, except the part about the former life of an actress. A tough act to follow. I went to college, got married, had two children, moved seven times in seven years as a corporate wife and got a divorce. How am I doing so far? Remarried, had another child, moved to California and the rest should be covered in the next section! Feel free to drop by my blog, nothing for sale, no ads and no pressure. Feedback encouraged. my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?
Never having really worked in my life before I was divorced, I decided I needed to say I did something! With an education in fine arts and having decorated four houses as we moved around, I became an Interior Designer and played around with that until I remarried. After moving to California, as my younger son got older I went back to Interior Designing, had my own firm for awhile and enjoyed the work but not necessarily the clients. I joined Weight Watchers with a friend and so admired the motivational speakers or leaders as they were called, I decided to apply for the job. For the first time in my life I left my comfort zone and became a public speaker. I loved it, to be able to make people laugh and help them to reach their goals was a delight. I remained a leader for fifteen years but eventually you can only speak about one subject for so long and I left the job. I had no idea how much I would miss my co-workers and my members. I hated being home with no real focus and I looked around for some thing to do! What that something was is a story unto itself and we will save that for a later date. Now I am trying my hand at blogging with an eye to speaking in some capacity some day but for now this will do.
How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?
I never thought I would become, in middle age, more ambitious than I ever was when I was a young woman and i'm thinking that, when I'm ninety there will be no stopping me! Where was this person when I needed her!!!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Either dead or the oldest woman ever to apply for a pilots license, so I can fly myself to speaking engagements

a postcard to my younger self

Relax, we never have as much control of our circumstance as we think we do!!

my role models

Oprah Winfrey, just because; Hillary Clinton, because she really became her own person; Meredith Viera, great wit and sense of humor and a devoted wife without being a martyr
