I was born and raised along The Mollogon Rim in the mountains of Arizona, the last of 5 children. I have always looked at the world from the eyes of an artist. Not how I would change it but how could I interpret it. Because of things in my life between 1973 and 2004 I was unable to work on my art more than a little bit. Now I am in the time of life and situation that is very nurturing of my work. A life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints, but not always practicing, I have been raised to look at things that the Lord has created as sacred. Every thing has beauty. Each talent that we are given should be developed to the fullness and done so with respect to our Heavenly Fathers gift to us. I don't have the talent to teach young children in a school, or the talent to play the piano, nor do I have a talent for keeping a spotless house, or the talent to balance numbers (numbers and I are allergic to each other). I wasn’t given the talent to sing like my wonderful mother could…. But I can paint and create things with my hands. A talent I am grateful for and thank my Heavenly Father for guiding my hands. I am now married to a wonderful, supportive, handsome man ( Gil) and combined we have 8 sons and a daughter. We also have 13 grandchildren with one on the way and 3 great-grandchildren. I have a wonderful life…the world still kicks at us, I still deal with my own dragons, but with the Lord and each other on our side we make it through each day. Our favorite saying is… “When Satan and the World rage at us…we will rage at Satan and the World…not each at other.”

How did you get to where you are now?

Great parents & extended family...my faith & church....31 years of a nightmare marriage....found the courage to leave and move on....Found an awesome man who loves me and lets me love him back and he stands by me....God

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

10 years ago I was in a horrid marriage with a man who dint love me and wouldnt let me love him, I weighed 408 lbs, my world was black, I was unalbe to do my art work and being told my talent was worthless.

Today I am married to a wonderful man, who loves me and excepts love from me, I am doing my art work and finding out that I AM good at it, I weigh 175 lbs, and although we have trials (like everyone today) my world is bright and sunny with hope, faith, love & joy.

How do you think I view myself diffrently????? I am living and wanting to live.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Still with my wonderful husband but us even closer, selling my art work, doing more art work and having faith that things are and will get better the closer I get to the Lord.

Just always remember...We do the best we can, with what we know at any given time. You will do the best you can with what you know! ! ! IT WILL ALL WORK OUT IN THE END.

My ancestors, especially my parents and grandparents, my husband who chose to serve our country in the Army with honor and pride for 25 years, all the service men & women, Joseph Smith Jr., my sister Gaye…Some of my teachers and many, many more.
