My Blog Circle:

I've never been one to "go gently into that good night." I guess when things get too comfortable, something's wrong and it's time for a change. I found this to be truer than ever as I passed the 50 mark. Whether that change is big or small, it doesn't matter. Life is more interesting, and fun, when you can surprise yourself, and maybe a few people around you!

The people I surprise (probably more often than they like) are my Hubby, Daughter, SIL, and Grandkids. Then there are the two cats and a wonderful assortment of family and friends. My place on Earth is crowded and that's the way I like it.

I enjoy sharing my journey beyond 50, as well as doing a bit of reminiscing, in my blog RemarkableWrinklies.com. Please stop by and see me sometime. I love the company!

And, because I like to 'wax nostalgic' at times, I naturally find myself going back to the place I remember best from my childhood - the kitchen. You can learn more about my trips down Memory Lane by clicking this link: A Trip Down Memory Lane, and take a peek at my cookbook - Memory Lane Meals Thank you for your time!

my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?
I got to this point by being willing to stop and drop everything and start over. I've done it in my work life and my personal life. Regrets? Only the things that I didn't do.
How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?
I was stuck in a job I didn't like. When faced with switching jobs I asked myself one question; "What will a new job be like?" And it dawned on me (finally) that a new job, any j-o-b, wouldn't give me what I want - freedom. Ten years later, I work for myself from home doing what I like - writing. I see myself finally free.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself traveling more and working less. I see myself in good health, enjoying my family and friends.

a postcard to my younger self

Dear Patti,

When you are feeling timid and shy, remember that everyone around you feels the same way. They may not act the same as you do, but they have the same insecurities inside. Go ahead and reach out to someone. I know you think your smile isn't quite right, or you won't know what to say, but that person is thinking the same thing.

When you grow up, there will be times when you feel just like you are little again. Some of those times will be awesome... other times, not so much. I want you to remember that no matter what bad things happen, YOU GET TO KEEP THE GOOD STUFF!

Love,
Patti

p.s. I see you every time I ride my bike!

my role models

The powerful women in my life have been my personal role models. My Gramma and Mom to begin with. Then I have an assortment of adventurous Aunts, Cousins, and Sisters who inspire me. I learned from all these women that there is no such thing as luck.
