I am 62 yrs old and have been divorced 4 yrs after 34 yrs of marriage. He was a really nice guy (remarried 2 yrs ago to a great lady) but we grew apart. To start my new life I moved from WA to SUNNY AZ. I grew up in CA & AZ and really missed the SUN. I have had a variety of occupations from Nursing, Accounting, Real Estate/Appraising and small business owner.

After some interesting dating experiences I started a new business  Check Out A Date that does background checks for singles (Checkoutadate.com). AZ has a lot of transient Snowbirds so it is hard to verify who the good or bad guys/gals are. Most of them are great but there are a few out there to watch out for!

my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

My Dad taught me that I could succeed in whatever I attempted. Neither of had ever heard of the "Glass ceiling". If you don't try you will never know what you can do.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

10 years ago I was a mom & wife, I worked in marketing doing graphic design- discovering my creative side. A friend invited me to go to London on a business trip. We arrived 3 days before 9/11. The disaster  was my wake up call- what did I want to do with the rest of my life? After a lot of soul searching (3 yrs) I decided that my life was not what I wanted it to be or where I wanted to be so I got a divorce and moved to AZ. It was a good move both for me and my husband. I felt I wasn't the kind of wife I should be for either of us. He deserved someone that could make him happy and so did I. It was hard on my 2 adult kids and my grandkids but eventually it has worked out.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Hopefully, with someone I can share and create memories with.
