I am a 55 year old female, have been working in health care my entire adult life, starting as a nurse in the hospital, doing case management, and now working in a skilled rehabilitation facility as the Director of Business Development. 

I have been blessed with three sons and six grandchildren as well as a wonderful gentleman in my life that keeps me smiling.

How did you get to where you are now?

I have always been curious about the human condition which is what lead me into health care to begin with.  As health care changed, more career opportunities opened up, one thing led to another.  I loved nursing, however it can be taxing on the physical body... back injuries, etc., so it was time to expand into more of an administrative role.  It allows me to use those skills without breaking my back!

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

Well, besides the fact that I'm 10 years older, the kids are grown and I have all of these grandchildren?  I feel much more at peace with life, certainly more in tune with the world around me and have more time to devote to issues that are of concern to all of us... politics, global warming, etc.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Hopefully cutting back in the work cycle to a less frenzed role, more time to volunteer and enjoy life.  It would be great to pick up a few hobbies, spend more quality time with family and friends.

Don't take life so seriously, relax!  Enjoy what you have in life and live in the moment.
