Grandgifting by Ronda Kay

I"m grateful to be living in this momentous era where we can befriend each other this way, share our strengths, remedy our weaknesses, and enjoy the journey together.

My life purpose is to bring joy, stamp out fear, and see the beauty everywhere.

My days are filled too much with attempting to crack the code on My Metabolic Mystery and regain vibrant good health... but I'm grateful these are challenges I can apparently do something about.

I relish the joys of grandparenting - it's like parenting with a pause button - and once again propels me into childish wonder..

At GrandGifting.com, I share effective strategies to help us enjoy meaningful relationships with GrandKids, over distance, time, and even generation gaps!

I adore the drips and surges of wisdom we are sharing here. Thanks to all for your contributions!

Let's be in touch!

my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

I'm blessed with my mother's morning optimism - and my father's insatiable curiosity and energy for learning new things.

With these valuable assets I've had 15+ careers, done business on 5 continents, and learned several languages which has kept life quite exciting!

Although my finances are just break even, my immeasurable wealth is my family - children and grandchildren that give me hope for our future and gratitude to be alive!

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

Ten years ago I read that Women of 50 are Powerful - but I didn't feel it... I noticed less patience for mediocrity, and more need to be quietly alone, but I didn't credit that to wisdom.

Now that I've rounded the 60 bend I'm feeling that power, and, fortunately for those around me, learning how to temper my use of it for good.  Like fire, control is the key.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Hopefully mobile and healthy enough to contribute actively to world welfare, family and friends...

And wise enough to know how to let go of what's no longer relevant...

a postcard to my younger self

Dear Miss Priss,

Thank you for stepping out of the assembly line...

Thank you for taking the road not followed...

Please send me some energy I didn't use up, and all the walks I didn't take, and mountains I didn't climb.... yet.

And please forgive me for rushing onward, sitting by the phone for boys to call, and living sometimes in fear.

Come and visit!  There's a special place in my heart, for you.

my role models

Perhaps my choice is unusual, as the details of her life are not so well known.

My role model is our Biblical Mother Sarah, because of her extraordinary qualities.  Sarah was able to: Light Shabbat candles on Friday night that not only brought peace and light to the world, they stayed lit the whole week because she was able to disagree with her husband, Abraham, without fighting. She was so wise and gracious that even G-d told Abraham to 'bend down' to listen to her.

And Sarah made Challah bread that satisfied everyone who ate it, because even during their times of dire poverty she could take whatever they had and make a happy home where everyone felt secure and satisfied;

And Sarah made the world brighter, in harmony with the universe - giving herself to teaching others, while maintaining a balance between home and activities outside.

A wonderful legacy....
