my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

i was born in lincoln nebraska and graduated high school there. i then moved to several places in iowa ending up in waterloo ia and attending hawkeye institute of technology and graduating with high honors from the interior design program with an associate of applied arts degree i then moved to deland florida and got in with a temp company that transferred me to garden city georgia, form there to our present home in brunswick georgia and my present job.  we have lived here 6 years.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

i think i am more stable in my work routine and my home life my husband mike is my best friend also, we will celebrate out 10th anniversary in october and i couldn't be happier.  i was kinda lost after 3 failed marriages and several failed long term relationships

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

i hope i can still be working here, i love the job and meet so many interesting people.  i talk to a lot of the guys here and help them in any way that i can. i most recently talked one man who had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, to go home and back to iowa, make amends with his sister and his children. he is 52 years old and has not seen his kids since they were toddlers. he called me to tell me thanks and that he was visiting his children for tthe first time in a lot of years.  i just wanted to cry!! i see my self doing this over and over again, there are so many people who need help and if i can in any was help i will.

a postcard to my younger self

i wish that i had paid more attention in school and got that nursing scholorship when i was in high school.  i should have listened to my brain and not my heart, i was a little boy crazy and that's not good until we're older

my role models

my dad was my biggest role model, i used to go to work with him on saturdays he owned a planing mill and did all types of carpentry work and building cabinets and such.  i watched him pay his workers first and then he would sometimes come home with a tiny paycheck, but we survived.  he taught me how to play card games and the game of bowling, he taught me to be fair and to respect other people and animals.  he always gave of himself and expected no gifts in return a simple thank you was all he needed.  he taught me how to be a thrifty grocery shopper.  i would go on saturdays and shop with him going by my mom's list.  i learned to be thrifty and how to comarison shop. he was always humble and i am that way to a fault.  i like giving gifts and advice, but i don't like receiving gifts and i don't like someone to give me advice. he taught me well, he passed away when i was 19 but i have always remembered the things he taught me and i have been a better person because of him!!!
